A Brief Reminder...

...before I get round to taking up-to-date photos, of why we chose to settle in Rosedale Abbey. The first photograph is what I see when I walk out of my front door and immediately turn to my right.

The second is St Lawrence's Church and what remains of the Priory which is 2 minutes walk away.

The third is the view from halfway down Rosedale Chiumney Bank--10 minutes walk or more like 20 if you're me, as it's steep--showing the eastern extremities of the village along Heygate Lane, including the chapel.

And finally, the whole village is seen nestling in its dale.

These pictures were taken in Spring. Two years ago actually but nothing's changed, except the chapel. Now it's Autumn the scenery is even more stunning as the trees quietly evolve into a tapestry of browns, golds and red and smoke from the chimneys mingles with pools of mist slipping down from the moors.

Lucky, lucky you, Sally! What a beautiful and peaceful place to live. I hope you're enjoying it. I love North Yorkshire in the autumn!

I am enjoying it hugely although not so much today as cloud and drizzle is hanging low on the hills!

Thanks for dragging me over here. This strikes me as quite a project but what rewards await you.

Beautiful.

Thanks for visiting, Scott. It'll be great when it's finished, although I'm not sure when that will be. There are eight men of various trades working both inside and outside today as I sit here trying to work. At least the sun is blazing from a cloudless sky again and the autumn colours have returned.

It does look lovely, Sally. Almost as gorgeous as where I live!

I do envy you Whitby, though. All I find if I drive east for 40 minutes is Barnsley, which isn't quite the same.
